Rifles

Your best two rifles are considered to be the M4 Carbine as well as the ever famous AK47.  These two weapons are extremely powerful and accurate when used correctly.  First of all lets clear up any confusion about the M4.  Silenced the recoil is less but it does less damage, also a silenced weapon draws less attention from a swarmed enemy leaving your chances of survival much greater.  I prefer to silence my weapon because I like the way it shoots better.  Anyways, I suggest firing in two to three shot bursts for the M4 unless the enemy is very close where you better unload at him with all you have.  With the AK47 the recoil is extremely large and in a somewhat random patter making your best bet a 2 shot burst.  All of these "bursts" should be directed at the enemy's neck or right below their head; the first bullet weakening them and the second finishing him off with a headshot since the recoil will bring it up ever so slightly.  And remember, practice makes perfect.

Rates

Its always important to make sure your rates are correctly set. Open your console and enter in the following commands.

cl_cmdrate 100
cl_updaterate 100
rates 3000

This will ensure you have the smoothest and most efficient game play possible.

Nades

Throwing grenades is one of the most important elements of the game. There are 3 types of grenades in the game including flashes, smokes, and he (frag) grenades. A well thrown flash can completely blind the opponent giving you an easy kill, and maybe even a better gun. Smoke grenades are great for cover or simply being a distraction. He grenades can be good to finish off a weak enemy or just getting some damage in. After you play for a while you'll notice areas where you should throw these nades before you ever even see someone.

Trick: If you run out of flashes, throwing a smoke can trick the enemy into turning around thinking its a flash, giving you a small advantage!

Awping

Everybodys favorite sniper rifle is the very powerful awp or magnum sniper rifle. This gun is either a one hit kill, or if hit in the leg does 84 damage. Awping tips include don't be moving side to side or forward and back while shooting, stand still. Secondly, some people use the jumping strategy and this is not a very good idea because you can get shoot while in the air, and simply you cant aim. There are only certain occasions where an unexpected jump shot can do you well. Lastly, if you hit someone in your leg, think about switching to your pistol to finish off that little 16 hp. Even more basic. Enable your console in the advanced options section and type in "net_graph 3" without the quotes. That will show you your fps or frames per second and if it is below 40, you probably need to upgrade your computer in order to become a pro.
